The program provides graduates with the skills and knowledge to apply and obtain an entry level position as an AC & Refrigeration Technician. Upon graduation, the student will receive a Diploma. The didactic and on-campus lab courses in the installation, basic, design, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment are included in the program along with office fundamentals to qualify individuals to enter in the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration industry.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to apply and obtain an entry level position as an AC & Refrigeration Technician. The theory and hands-on course in the installation, basic, design, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial refrigeration, air condition, and heating equipment along with office fundamentals is a complete program to qualify individuals to enter in the Refrigeration and A/C industry.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The program consists of a skill-oriented program where the student is introduced to the fundamentals of refrigeration, principles, and application of electricity, operation, and function of air condition systems in a supervised laboratory. This is a comprehensive program with a variety of tasks and duties associated with the field of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. The teaching methods, theories and lecture, and a supervised laboratory. Graduates of this program would qualify for the following entry level positions: Cooling Mechanic, Heating Mechanic, Refrigeration Mechanic, Energy Consultant, Heating and Cooling Service and New System Sales and Installation. Additionally, this program is taught in Spanish/English and offers all theory/exam hours on-line. Lab hours must be completed on campus.
